Privacy on padell.io
In short: no cookies, no ad networks and no profiles. What we do keep, and why, is below.
Who
padell.io is a site by Bright Idiots BV, set up by Ruud Caris. Questions about your data go through the contact form.
Visitor statistics without cookies
We count visits with Plausible Analytics, through our own domain stats.brightidiots.com. Plausible sets no cookies and builds no profile of you. It does count which pages are viewed, from which country and on which type of device, and which buttons are used (for example a click to a shop or finishing the racket finder).
Your IP address is not stored. That is also why no consent banner is needed.
What your browser remembers
A few choices are kept in your own browser (localStorage) so you do not have to make them again: the country we show prices for, light or dark mode, your compare list and your answers in the racket finder. This stays on your device; we do not receive it. Clear it by deleting the site data in your browser.
Finding your country for prices
To show prices including shipping, we check once which country you visit from. Cloudflare, our hosting provider, reads this from your IP address. We only get the country code back and store nothing. You can always choose the country yourself.
Price alerts
When you set a price alert, we keep your email address, the racket, your target price, the country and the language. You first get a confirmation email; without confirmation nothing happens and the alert is removed after 7 days. Once the price is reached we email you once and the alert stops. Completed and stopped alerts are deleted after 90 days.
The data is stored with Cloudflare. The emails are sent through our mail provider emailit. We use your address for nothing else: no newsletter, no reselling.
Contact form
A message through the contact form reaches us as an email, with your email address if you fill it in. We do not store it on the site. We only use it to reply or to fix a mistake.
YouTube
Some racket pages show video reviews from YouTube. The preview images come from YouTube. The video itself only loads when you click it, through youtube-nocookie.com. From that moment YouTube's rules apply.
Going to a shop
When you click through to a shop, that shop's rules apply. Some shops use a partner programme and set a cookie on their own site to note that you came from padell.io. That sometimes earns us a small commission; your price does not change. See also how we earn money.
Your rights
You can ask which data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted. Stop a price alert with the link in the email or through the contact form. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
